The Sangguniang Bayan of Palo welcomed the attendance of Nympha Metante, a representative of Relief International, during its regular session on December 15, 2020.
Ms. Metante was in attendance to promote the Measles-Rubella and Oral Polio Vaccine Supplemental Immunization Activity (MR-OPV SIA). She stressed that the activity will focus on giving vaccines to child/children in the municipality as the cases of measles, rubella (german measles) and polio are somewhat on the rise as visit to hospitals or clinics for regular vaccinations are impeded due to the pandemic. The activity roll-out in Region 8, which is Phase 2 of the program, will be within February 1 to 28, 2021. The said program is a project of Relief International in partnership with United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF).
