    CRAFTING OF THE MUNICIPAL HEALTH DEVELOPMENT CODE

                 A series of assemblies for the crafting of the Municipal Health Development Code attended and to be attended by some local officials, individuals from different private health sectors, and officials of the different barangays was initially held on October 8, 2020.

                 The first of the series of assemblies commenced with the delivery of the opening remarks by Hon. Jonathan P. Chiquillo, Sangguniang Bayan Committee on Health Chairperson. It was followed by the welcome message of Hon. Felipe T. Ygrubay, Jr.

                 Prior to the formulation of the organizational structure, the Municipal Health Officer (MHO), Dr. Leo T. Calonia, discussed feedbacks on the Barangay Health Monitoring System (BHMS). Then, Eunice S. Bato, a University of the Philippines Manila – School of Health Sciences (UPM-SHS) scholar from Palo, discussed the Community Health Development Plan format. Florderiza Honorio, a BHMS Coordinator, presented as well the BHMS COVID-19 Related Symptoms Monitoring prior to the open discussion portion of the assembly.

                After the open discussion, formulation of the Community Health Development Plan (CHDP) for every barangay was reached. And then, output for every barangay was presented. Feedbacks were gathered afterwards.

                The initial assembly for the crafting of the Municipal Health Development was a fruitful event. And prior to its closing, certificates of participation were awarded to all attendees.

                The crafting and formulation of the Municipal Health Development Code is held through series of assemblies and participated only by five (5) barangays, per assembly, as the proponent(s) of the program adhered to the observance of the COVID-19 protocol on the prohibition of gatherings or activities which tend to cause the attendance of large number of persons.

    The series of assemblies are slated on different days from October 8 to October 23, 2020.
