The Sangguniang Bayan of Palo had its inaugural session on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at the Palo Municipal Hall.
The event started with the processional march headed by the Honorable Mayor Frances Ann B. Petilla, escorted by the Former DOE Secretary Carlos Jericho L. Petilla. Followed by the Former Mayor Remedios L. Petilla, escorted by the Honorable Vice Mayor Ronnan Christian M. Reposar. Then, the Sangguniang Bayan Members, Hon. Jonathan P. Chiquillo, Hon. Chiqui Ruth C. Uy, Hon. Magdalena M. Torres, Hon. Gregorio P. Dolina, Jr., Hon. Aaron H. Roca, Hon. Imelda B. Parado, Hon. Felipe T. Ygrubay, Jr., Hon. Jon Jezreel S. Agner, Hon. Roel D. Baldevia, and Hon. Oriell D. Chiquillo, escorted by the Municipal Sanggunian Secretary Edgardo P. Pedrosa.
The inaugural session was called to order around 9:30 in the morning.
On the session proper, tackled were the consideration/approval of the Calendar of Business; consideration/approval of the Minutes of the Previous Session; consideration/approval of the Sangguniang Bayan Internal Rules; fixing the day, time, and place to conduct session; election of Sangguniang Bayan Standing Committees and Representatives; and, the first reading and reference of business.
Mayor Frances Ann B. Petilla delivered her inaugural address before the session was adjourned. On her inaugural address, she stressed that she will continue the five (5) point agenda initiated by the previous administration and that she will strive to bring further improvements and introduce more developments to the Municipality of Palo.
The whole session was simple yet full of decorum.
Aside from the key officials, in attendance were the Local Government Unit of Palo Department Heads, Chairmen of the different barangays of the municipality, the Sangguniang Kabataan Chairmen, representatives from the different regional and provincial government agencies, several members from the academe, non-government organizations, and friends and families of the Mayor, Vice-Mayor and the Sangguniang Bayan members.
