A ceremonial turn-over of administration was held on June 26, 2019 at 2:00pm at The Oriental Hotel, Palo Leyte.
In attendance were the local chief executives, members of the Sangguniang Bayan, heads of the different departments of the LGU, and several regional and provincial directors from different government agencies.
The ceremonial turn-over was started with the delivery of the Rationale by Mr. Ricardo C. Gio, MLGOO-Palo. It was followed by the opening address of the outgoing mayor, Hon. Remedios Matin L. Petilla.
To apprise the new local chief executive, the Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator, Engr. Armand C. Cabaltera, presented the status of the municipality’s 5-point agenda. The different department heads also presented briefers and backgrounders regarding their respective department’s mandates and duties to the new mayor.
After the presentation, the incoming Municipal Mayor, Hon. Frances Ann B. Petilla, then made her response and comments through her address. The municipal Vice Mayor, Hon. Ronnan Christian M. Reposar, formally closed the event.
The ceremonial turn-over was also graced by Mayor Ann’s better half, the former DOE Secretary, Carlos Jericho Icot L. Petilla, her children, Carlos, Lorenzo, Mika, Nicola and Danika. In attendance, as well, were Mayor Ann’s parents, Pete and Honey Basilio, her aunt, Marichu Gosong, and her sisters-in-law Aneth and Patricia Petilla.
